In the event you are diagnosed with ADHD, your doctor may be more comfortable prescribing medication once the evaluation has been completed. It may also be possible to obtain academic and work accommodations based on the results of this evaluation.
What to Expect
What is the ADHD Diagnostic Evaluation?
In order to determine if an adult has ADHD and the impact of their symptoms on their daily functioning, a complete ADHD Diagnostic Evaluation is conducted. The assessment process includes a clinical interview, review of previous medical/mental health records, and completion of a few questionnaires. Following the completion and analysis of the evaluation, the clinician, will provide a report including the results and, if applicable, recommendations for treatment. Please note that most insurance carriers only partially cover the fees for this service. It is the client’s responsibility to contact their insurance provider to determine out-of-network benefits and coverage.
